Hungry

So this idea of giving up fast food and take out foods for Lent is turning out to be a lot harder than I thought. When I first came up with the idea to give it up I figured that it would not to difficult. I chose to give it up because it is one a way for me to save money and a way for me to better monitor what I eat and to eat healthier (getting back to that self-care idea). I have had to work much harder to make sure I don’t cave in and succumb to fast foods. I think this is God’s way of showing me that fasting even if for more personal ideals is going to be tougher than you think. God will help you, but as with most things God does he challenge you with to help you take it to the next level. And overall I feel as though that next level is what God wants us to move to through Lent. To fast during Lent allows you to see that you can live without and to be able to make it into a new life style or to be able practice self-control when dealing with that item. So as you continue through Lent whether you gave up something or took something up try and find what God might be teaching you with this activity. (More on my blogging thoughts later)
